Argentine Tango - An Introduction For Couples

UPDATED 20140821 11:05:11

The Argentine Tango developed in the ghettos and brothels of Buenos Aires during the latter part of the nineteenth century. In its social form the style is intimate, spontaneous, and playful. Unusually, the Argentine Tango embodies elements of both ballroom and Latin technique; also it has unique aspects such as the hold. Most important, however, is the flexibility of the technique, with its small units of movement, non-prescriptive timing, and amounts of turn. Together with the importance of lead and follow this all serves the free-spirited nature of the style. , You should enrol with a partner. The partner may be of the other or same sex. The partner need not be your life-partner, just someone with whom you wish to play!
