Access to HE Diploma: Health & Social Care

The aim of this course is to prepare students who have a strong desire to progress to nursing and health and social care Higher Education (HE) programmes, but as yet, do not have the relevant qualifications to commence a Higher Education course. You will develop the relevant knowledge and skills in terms of assignment writing, presentation skills, research skills, and undertaking external assessments. The main subjects that you will be studying include ‘Social Issues in Health Care’, ‘Human Physiology’ and a range of related units, plus study skills and academic writing to develop your academic skills. Throughout the year you will be well supported by an enthusiastic team who are student-centred, and have positive links with our Higher Education partner institution – the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). Enrichment opportunities will also help you to enhance your learning experience during the course. Please note: Many universities will expect you to have some relevant paid or voluntary work in the area of health and social care as part of their entry requirements.
