These exciting new courses for young people are designed as tasters into different work areas. They are offered as short modules and their flexibility allows young people to put their toe in the water of the world of work whilst gaining a qualification. We work with a wide range of local employers and have an excellent track record of progressing learners from Access 2 courses to apprenticeships or college. Is it for me? If you want to work within the health and social care sector this qualification will give you an introduction to the types of roles your could be doing. You may wish to work with a range of service users such as the elderly or individuals, including young people, with learning disabilities. If you have a positive, approachable nature, are flexible and organised in your approach to work then this course may be suitable for you . You also need to be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. What does the course involve? You will attend classes up to 3 days a week to study health and social care theory and maths and English (if required). Towards the end of the course you will have the option to attend a suitable work experience placement.
