Observations of children participating in everyday activities is the most reliable way of building up an accurate picture of what children know, understand, feel, are interested in and can do. When practitioners use a variety of observational styles the evidence collected gives a broader view of each child and their specific skills. This will enable the practitioner to assess and, using the EYFS, to plan more appropriately for each child. These workshops will explore different methods of observation, why they are used and what type of evidence each method could give us.
