This qualification will help you develop a basic knowledge and understanding of the needs of young children aged from birth to 5 years based in a variety of settings. It will help you to understand your role in supporting children’s development and will allow you to develop the basic skills needed to support play work, out of school and early years settings. The units you will study are: Encouraging children to eat healthily, Create a safe environment for young children, Working in a team, Contribute to equality of opportunity in support of young children’s development, Provide a range of appropriate play activities for young children. You will complete a portfolio of work on the course. In your classes you will also take part in group discussions and practical activities.
