This course is the recognised qualification for people working in the Childcare sector with children and young people aged 0-19 years, it will improve your employment prospects and enable you to work in a variety of childcare settings. Students must be 18 or over to enrol and must have recently completed 200 hours of voluntary or paid work experience in a childcare setting before commencing the course. You will need to have a good level of English and be working a minimum of 14 hours per week in a childcare setting on a voluntary/paid basis at the start of, and for the duration of, this course, as you will be assessed in the workplace. You are expected to remain in the same setting for the length of the course. After successful completion, you may wish to progress onto a Level 3 qualification, your tutor will advise you when you finish the course.
