This introductory qualification is ideal for people interested in working in childcare. Topics include: communication, the role of the child care worker, health and safety, safeguarding and child development. This is an intensive course and requires a good level of English. You will need to attend college two days per week, Wednesday and Friday. After successfully completing this course, you could work in the Childcare sector on a voluntary basis. If you wish to progress onto the Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young People£s workforce, you will need to complete 200 hours of work experience prior to starting that course and then maintain a minimum of 14 hours a week during the course.
