Do you want to be a Teaching Assistant? Learn the skills required on this course which is the recognised qualification for people who work with, or want to work with, school age children. Students must be 18 or over to enrol and you must have at least 1 year£s experience working with children or young people and/ or have an existing Level 2 qualification. You will need to have a very good level of English and either have a position as a volunteer (you will need a reference from your placement) or be employed for a minimum of 14 hours per week in a childcare setting at the start of, and for the duration of, this course, as you will be assessed in the workplace. This course willl help you improve your employment prospects and enable you to work in a variety of childcare settings. You may wish to progress onto the Leadership for Children's Care, Learning & Development Level 5 Diploma. Therefore, course costs are discussed on an individual basis. If you are aged 24 or over, then you may be able to apply for a 24+ Learning Loan.
