Creative Textiles with Karen Smith

This course is perfect if you want to develop the skills needed to create homemade crafts, (please be aware this is not a dressmaking course). Our tutor will cover the following:Autumn term:Surface treatments - e.g. stencilling, print block, resist dying & Batik.A Homemade Christmas workshop - learn how to make soft toys & tree decorations.Spring term:Six surfaces to stitch - create a small decorative book by using different techniques including Plyfusion, Tyveck,Embossing.Machine Stitching - learn how to use a machine to appliqu£ & embroider.Summer term:Stitch, paper, print, cloth, text & image - create homemade cards.Felt Making - learn how to make a small handmade felt cushions & felt jewellery.A materials list will be provided on enrolment.
