Apprenticeships allow you to gain qualifications whilst working – you will normally study one day per week in college and spend the rest of the week at work, usually at least 30 hours per week. They are available at two levels, the Intermediate and the Advanced Apprenticeship. The Intermediate Apprenticeship covers subjects such as the servicing and repair of motor vehicles, braking systems, lighting systems, suspension systems, steering systems, electrical systems, basic motor vehicle engineering skills and industrial skills. The Advanced Apprenticeship covers non routine and complex areas such as fault diagnosis and rectification, with similar topics to the Intermediate Apprenticeship.
