Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery

All candidates will be interviewed for this course by the subject specialist, which will include a skill test. You should have four GCSEs at grades A*-D (including English and Maths), a Level 1 Diploma at Merit plus a satisfactory tutor reference. Mature students may be accepted on the basis of their industrial experience. Your studies will be split between practical and theory lessons and research into the industry that you will have to do at home. Your practical classes will include food preparation and food service. The food and pastry preparation classes will be assessed by an external examiner as well as a local high profile chef. You will also study ‘Functional Skills’.
