The student will develop skills and an in-depth understanding of health, including areas such as Human Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology, Communication Skills and Life stages Development. Below are some vocational units to be studied during the course: - Health & Safety - Equality, Diversity and Rights - Research Project - Personal and Professional Development - Public Health The method of learning is by class based activity, project work and research, including work placements. Work experience: one day per week plus block weeks per year including Day centres, nursing homes, special schools. Performance in placement acts as evidence for vocational practice. You will need to gain clearance from the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS). Progression: Successful completion of the 90 Credit Diploma in Year 1 will enable you to progress to the Extended Diploma which equates to 3 A Levels in total. This course is for students who wish to progress into Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Paramedic professions.
