CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young People's Workforce

This qualification is designed to give you an understanding of the health and education needs of children, including the Early Years Foundaton Stage for 0 to 5 year olds, and how to provide appropriate activities. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children's environments, when working with children and young people from birth to 7 years of age. Units of study will include: - Introducing the Role of the Early Years Practitioner - Legislation, Framework and Practice - Play, Development and Learning for School - Professional Development The method of learning is through classroom based activity and work placements. Employment: - Assistant pre-school workers - Assistants in children's centres - Assistants in day nurseries and nursery schools. Further Study: Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (if you achieve a Pass Grade and relevant GCSE entry requirements are met). Students who wish to gain a Level 2 Qualification enabling them to gain occupational competence for the Childcare Workforce.

Entry requirements

We recommend you purchase the following items and would ask you to be prepared to pay these costs when you enrol with us in September: £14 (approximately) - Uniform (polo shirt). £44 - DBS You will be working with young people in your placement and will therefore need to gain clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service. This fee is payable during induction when you complete the online questionnaire. If you are 19 or over at the start of the course you will be required to pay an Award Body Registration Fee of approximately £90. This is payable at enrolment.
