Herbalism - Some Principles and Practice

For those who have completed herbalism beginners and wish to continue their learning and understanding of how plants, food & lifestyle play a vital role in our health. We will look at the principles of western herbal medicine including humoural theory, constitutional types and the energetics of plants and food; useful herbs for children; food as medicine; fasting and how to detox safely. We will also make some simple herbal preparations. WHAT DOES THIS COURSE COVER ------------------------------------------------------------------ The course will cover some basic principles of western herbal medicine including humoural theory, constitutional types and the energetics of plants and food; useful herbs for children; food as medicine; fasting and how to detox safely. We will also make some simple herbal preparations. Learning objectives: Name the 4 humours and associated temperaments Identify bitter, warm, cooling and heating plants Name two foods that support liver function Describe how to make an herbal tincture List 3 useful medicinal plants for children and how to use them therapeutically
