The BA (Hons) in Public Services Management is designed to develop your existing knowledge with the aim of converting your HND or foundation degree into a full BA qualification. Allowing you to work at managerial level within the industry, this programme provides you with an in depth understanding of the applied processes implemented within this profession. Seeking to enhance your practice to supervisory standard, you will gain the essential skills and critical techniques necessary for future employment. Through a combination of theoretical study and practical experience, this course requires dedicated individuals who are willing to conduct an element of self-directed learning. Studying various modules including strategic management, crisis and disaster planning and social psychology, this intense programme offers you the opportunity to gain valuable academic and professional knowledge. As part of your learning, you will also need to complete an individual dissertation and research proposal illustrating your understanding of contemporary issues within public service management. Studied over the duration of one year, this BA (Hons) is a full-time course that provides current practitioners with the opportunity to choose their preferred mode of delivery. Depending on individual circumstances, this course can be studied on block release or day release. An additional enrichment programme is also available to those enthusiastic individuals who want to gain coaching awards and all students will take part in a two week study skills course to ensure their success in Higher Education. There is an extended induction process, the first two weeks of the course are an intensive 'crash course' in study skills; enabling you to study at degree level. You will spend two days a week in College for formal lectures. An enrichment programme is available, to gain coaching awards or play recreational sport.
