The Level 1 Vocational Studies is an exciting new qualification that gives you a great opportunity to develop a variety of skills used in the Creative Industries. This course is designed to offer an experience of Art, Multimedia and IT, and combine this with a chance to improving your literacy and numeracy skills. Information Technology You will learn to enhance and develop skills your skills in IT, from discovering what makes computers tick, to how to maintain computer hardware and software. There is a good mixture of theory based learning and hands-on practical lessons, using the college computer lab. Multimedia You will cover units that will help you understand the use of different multimedia products such as newspapers, magazines and videos. You will become aware of how media products focus on audience, content and style for publications. You will then get to create some multimedia products of your own, such as creating your own website and animation. Art Throughout the Art units you will get the opportunity to practice and learn new crafts. The Art units will give you access to the colleges art department where you will study painting and develop skills in mixed media, creating art work using different mediums. Units: IT User Fundamentals Explore 3D Design Explore Mixed Media Explore Painting Website Software Developing Animation Working as Part of a Group Investigating Interactive Media Developing Multimedia Products This course will allow you to experience more than one subject and explore your skills. You will have the opportunity to learn about options at higher levels.
