AS Photography encourages experimentation and the development of creative ideas. It is an art form and a platform for expressing emotional and intellectual ideas about the world we live in. To study this course you must have a strong interest in Art & Design and should have achieved a grade C GCSE in an Art & Design based subject. AS Photography consists of two modules, coursework and a practical exam. The course is practically based and delivered through workshop sessions and classroom study. You will gain the skills needed to complete your coursework and timed assignment, for which you are able to choose a subject matter that is of particular interest to you. A large part of the course depends on photographic trips and assignments outside college and so whilst studying AS Photography you will have the opportunity to visit galleries and art exhibitions, as well as practical photographic trips to various locations.
