Validated by Loughborough University The BSc in Sports Coaching provides an opportunity for those individuals who want to extend their existing foundation degree to a BSc Honours qualification. With the aim of extending your professional knowledge and expertise, this programme enables you to gain the necessary skills required for post-graduate study and employment. This course enables you to study a range of core and optional modules in areas including performance coaching, children in sport and PE & teaching. Coaching practice constitutes a large proportion of this programme and provides you with the opportunity to gain feedback from specialist coaches which will enable you to reflect upon your performance. You will also be required to conduct your own research project which will allow you to explore a particular area of personal interest in relation to the coaching field. Students enrolling on this course will have the opportunity to become part of a coach mentoring programme alongside other young coaches. This initiative will enable you to gain valuable skills for your transition into employment or Higher Education and will help to develop you as an experienced practitioner. Our courses feature regular group-work sessions and research tasks through which you will gain the necessary communication, teamwork and analytical skills required for future employability within this increasingly thriving sector. Students have the opportunity to apply to present their research at the annual Student BASES Conference.
