This is a vocational course which looks at different areas of employment within the public service. It offers a solid foundation in the various aspects of public service management and enables you to develop essential skills required for gaining employment or progressing to further within higher education to convert the HNC to an HND with a further progression route to a BA (Hons) Public Service Management. The HNC consists of 8 modules over the duration of the course which are likely to include the following subject areas: Justice and Punishment Small Scale Research Project Organisations and Behaviour Fair Treatment in Public Services Employability Skills Personal and Professional Development Emergency Planning Sociological Aspects in Public Services Module tutors have been previously employed in the public services and are therfore able to contextualise the content of modules. A number of trips are provided for students with links to public service management.
