The BTEC First Diploma in Children£s Care, Learning & Development provides students, who successfully pass all the requirements of the qualification, with 'Assistant Practitioner Status'. This will allow you to work in a supervised capacity within an Early Year£s environment. The course provides opportunities for you to develop a range of skills essential for successful performance in working life.

Name: BTEC First Diploma in Children's Care, Learning & Development - Level 2 Qualification title: - Qualification type: Assessment To achieve the First Diploma you will need to pass the following core units, plus one specialist unit: Core Units: - Understanding children£s development - Keeping children safe - Communication with children and adults - Preparing and maintaining environments for child care - Professional development, roles and responsibilities in child care Specialist unit: - Supporting children£s play and learning You are also required to successfully complete 300 hours of work placement in at least 2 different settings. Assessment for the course is focused on each unit. The continuous assessment methods include written assignments, presentations, displays and posters. The assignment programme will enable you to develop skills and progress will be carefully monitored. Whilst taking one of our full-time courses you will also complete a programme of Functional Skills which could comprise of a combination of English, Math and ICT.
