You will cover a wide range of hairdressing activities. The method of learning is through practical workshops with related theory input and directed library study and research. The units you will study include: - Client Care - Cutting - Health and Safety - Colouring - Perming - Styling hair - Shampooing and conditioning - Consultation - Working in Industry - Scalp Massage - Reception After successful completion of this course and successfully completing a practical skills/theory test you can progress to the VRQ Level 3 in Hairdressing or NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing. Employment opportunities include theatre, television, cruise liners, salons, salon management and self-employment or VRQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy or VRQ Level 2 in Nail Technology. There will be work experience in a commercial environment. There will also be visits to trade exhibitions/seminars throughout the year. This course is aimed at those who wish to further develop existing skills or would like to retrain and change career direction.
