The Level 3 Award in English for Literacy and Language Teaching is about enabling teachers to evidence their English skills at level 3 while gaining confidence in teaching Functional Skills. This course is aimed at both pre-service or in-service teachers who would like to develop their literacy and language skills as well as develop language awareness and teaching skills to improve their own teaching. It is suitable for vocational teachers and provides you with knowledge and skills to teach or embed Functional Skills English, literacy and language. You will explore the following areas for your personal development and teaching:1. Analysing English language- the relationship between language forms and meaning2. Reading skills- previewing, predicting, creating interest, skimming and scanning3. Speaking and listening skills- presentations, non-verbal communication, identifying main points4. Writing skills- planning, drafting, adhering to conventions of spelling, punctuation and grammar
