The qualification is primarily aimed at practitioners who work directly with clients, disseminating information, advice and some level of guidance (Starts Sep '14) It is suitable for candidates:Whose work includes clear guidelines in the practice of advice and guidance. Who are working in designated advice and/or guidance organisations. Whose role is to provide information that is often interpreted by others. The course covers:Establishing contact with clients Guidance interviews Information systems and providing information to clients Action planning Referral procedures and networking Evaluating and developing your own work Portfolio building session. There will be practical assessments, including workplace visits. You need to get permission from your supervisor to be assessed at work. There will also be some written assignments. You will need to build a portfolio of evidence to complete the course.
