Access to Higher Education - Social Science

This Access to HE Diploma course is designed to provide the necessary knowledge and academic skills to study a social science degree or diploma course at uni. The Social Science route is for those who wish to progress onto Social Science or similar degrees leading to careers in the caring sector such as social work or youth work practitioners, in advisory, administrative or research work in the public, community and voluntary sectors, or in the media, public relations and market research or similar. You will register for the Access to HE Diploma (Humanities and Social Science). For this route you will study Academic Study Skills, Sociology and Psychology. You will also choose one subject option from: Economics; English Literature, History, Mathematics, or Politics and International Relations.You will also have a personal tutor who will support you during the year and who will advise you on your application to higher education institutions.The course requres 2 days attendance a week. You are also expected to undertake private study of 10-15 hrs a week in addition to this.
