A specialist technical goldsmithing course for those who with either a Level 2 qualification or some existing jewellery making skills such as filing, soldering, piercing, polishing and design The programme will hone and refine your accuracy and technical abilities at the bench covering a range of techniques which will enable you to start designing and making beautiful jewellery to an increasingly professional and commercial standard. You will design and make a konetic ring, a box clasp, a bracelet, an eternity ring and learn how to make a variety of settings This course takes 9 months to complete (on a two day per week basis). Is this for me? This fantastic course is for those already able to make jewellery and who want to push the level of quality achieved. Perhaps you can already make simple items, have completed a Level 2 qualification or short courses, or perhaps you are self-taught and need to professionalise your skills. If so, this course is for you. What happens on the course? Through the programme you will be continuously assessed and you will cover the following topics: Preparing your workshop Creating jewellery from your own designs and from specified briefs Accuracy for production Developing Sawing and Piercing skills Making individual components of jewellery Soldering by hand Joining by mechanical means Producing customised tools or jigs for specialist work to create your own designs Understand and apply concepts of metallurgy to jewellery Polish and finish jewellery components to a commercial standard.
