UPDATED 20160407 14:21:36

This course will provide the Apprentice with Painting and Decorating skills. The programme includes the following: Level 2 NVQ in Painting and Decorating (Competency - what you will be assessed against whilst in the work place); Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating (Knowledge - what you will learn in College or from your teacher/assessor). Functional Skills will be a mandatory part of your programme and followed at the appropriate level. These will provide you with the practical skills to work confidently, effectively and independently. They open doors to learning, to life and to work. These skills are valued by employers and further education and are a platform on which to build other employability skills. Better functional skills can mean a better future - as learners or as employees and in everyday life. Functional Skills are essential skills in English, Mathematics and ICT that enable everyone to deal with the practical problems and challenges of life - at home, in education and at work. They reinforce skills in communication, problem solving, listening and time management. For example, they help us recognise good value deals when making purchases, in writing an effective application letter, or when using the internet to access local services or online banking. They are about using English, Mathematics and ICT in everyday situations.
