Do you have an interest in working in the Theatre/Film industry as a Costume and/or Set Designer? Do you want to develop your skills and experience further? Are you interested in furthering your qualification profile with a view to progressing to a higher level course of study? If so, the BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Design for Performance is the course for you! This course is a practical, production-related course that will give you an insight into the career of a Theatre Designer. Study will combine both practical and theoretical subjects helping you to develop your skills in the areas of costume, set and production, as well as your knowledge of theatre design from the perspective of a lighting technician, an audience member and a producer. Students will undertake an enhanced study programme that will support their progression and employability. This will include participation in visiting workshops, theatre visits and talks by professionals from within the industry. In addition they will receive a series of theoretical support sessions that will improve their chances of success and support progression to further study.
