Do you have an interest in working in the Theatre/Live Events industry as a Technical Operator/Designer or Stage Manager? Do you want to develop your skills and experience further? Are you interested in furthering your qualification profile with a view to progressing to a higher level course of study? If so, the BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Technical Theatre is the course for you! This course is a practical, performance-related course that will give you an insight into the career of a Theatre Technician. Study will combine both practical and theoretical subjects helping you to develop your skills in the three areas of lighting, sound and production, as well as your knowledge of technical theatre from the perspective of a designer, an audience member and a producer. Students will undertake an enhanced study programme that will support their progression and employability. This will include participation in visiting workshops, theatre visits and talks by professionals from within the industry. In addition they will receive a series of theoretical support sessions that will improve their chances of success and support progression to further study.
