You will study all aspects of children's care learning and development Introduction to communication Introduction to equality and inclusion Child & young person development Safeguarding the welfare of children & young people Contribute to children & young people's health & safety Support positive children and young people's positive behaviour Contribute to the support of the positive environments for children & young people Understand partnership working in services for children & young people Paediatric emergency first aid and managing paediatric illness & injury Maintain & support relationships with children & young people Maths- English and IT will be an important part of your course. You will continue to develop these skills and may work towards a qualification at an appropriate level.

All students working with children will need to have an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check; this may affect your application. Please discuss this with your interviewing tutor. You need to bring pen- notebooks and folders to every lesson. It is expected that you will bring a memory stick to save and back up your work. Educational trips may be part of our course and students will be expected to contribute towards them.
