You will need to achieve 65 credits to complete this award which consists of mandatory units- pathway units and optional units chosen to meet your individual needs and interests You will need to complete 11 Core mandatory units (27 Credits) Early Learning and Childcare pathway- Learners taking this pathway will need to complete a further 5 mandatory units (22 Credits) Social Care pathway- Learners taking this pathway will need to complete a further 3 mandatory units (13 Credits) Learning and Development Support Services pathway- Learners taking this pathway will need to complete a further 3 mandatory units Total credit value: 13 You will then need to choose from a bank of optional units to achieve a minimum of 65 credits Examples of Mandatory units: Promote Communication- Promote Equality & Inclusion in Children's and Young People's Settings- Engage in Personal Development- Principles for Implementing Duty of Care- Safeguarding Children and Young People- Develop positive relationships with children- young people and others involved in their care
