Film Studies is designed for students who are passionate about film and want to learn about the film-making process in detail. The course will involve studying producers (both American and British) and audiences, the role of macro features of film in constructing meanings, a project based on the work of a director, institutions, stars, genres or other aspects of film and studying films from different contexts. As part of this course you will also make your own short films. The course works well alongside subjects such as Media Studies, but can also link with a number of other creative or technology-based subjects.
