Chemistry is designed for students who have a very strong interest in science subjects and are considering a STEM-based career. The first year course covers topics such as atoms and electrons, compounds, molecules and equations, amount of substance, acid–base and redox reactions, bonding and structure, the periodic table and periodicity, reaction rates and equilibrium and hydrocarbons. Later on you will cover more advanced topics, including analytical techniques, pH and buffers, electrode potentials, nitrogen compounds and polymers, organic synthesis, chromatography and spectroscopy.
