This is a level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship which encourages and works with learners to build their understanding of 'Lean'. Lean is a way of Improving Operational Performance, in companies 'Waste' is one of the biggest costs to industry, especially in Manufacturing, Engineering and Food. This apprenticeship develops an apprentices skills in how to save the company money, through practical approaches and also tutorials this includes generating new ways of working, reducing waste introducing processes that perhaps didn't exist previously. The apprenticeship includes NVQ(QCF) Business Improvement Techniques, BTEC in Operational Management and Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English. Learners are able to progress in to a variety of roles and also work in many different areas of a company when gaining these skills and industry use individuals qualified to increase profits. Project work is undertaken to provide relevant evidence for the qualifications.
