This course provides students with a balanced and interrelated course of study covering a wide academic and practical understanding of music. They will learn skills that will help them in any career in music as a performer, teacher, therapist, composer, journalist, administrator or working with music technology. Students will develop their understanding of music for an exam testing their listening and analytical skills. They will have the opportunity to compose their own music; and of course they will have to perform, both individually and within groups or ensembles of various sizes. They will consider a range of music, including classical, popular, world and folk music plus music for television and film.
