Who is it for? This course is suitable for learners who have a GCSE or A level in Spanish and/or have substantial experience of speaking Spanish at that level and can make themselves understood in most social situations. What will I learn? The Advanced Spanish course will allow learners to improve their Spanish language with the focus on accuracy and effective communication. Reading, listening, speaking and writing skills will be used through individual, pair and group work and authentic texts. Relevant vocabulary and grammar will be integrated as well as elements of Spanish culture, geography and idioms. A variety of activities will be provided to cater for different learning styles in a supportive atmosphere. The programme will be flexible and relevant to learners' needs. Course outcomes: Follow the main points of an authentic spoken passage or conversation in different contexts. Identify the main points and infer the meaning of authentic passages and conversations at near native speed. Give a presentation on a chosen theme, respond to questions and argue points with some degree of success. Participate in discussions relating to a variety of situations and topics. Structure writing to produce a coherent text, for a specific purpose e.g. a letter or to communicate ideas and opinions for an article.
