Instrumentation Technicians are employed in any industry or sector that has automated processes, from production lines, to chemical plants to the armed forces. The main function of an Instrument Technician is to maintain the components that are used in controlling a process. Installing, maintaining and calibrating this equipment is all part of the Instrument Technicians responsibility wherever they work. - Working safely in an engineering environment - Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively - Using and communicating technical information - Forming and assembling pipework systems - Maintaining and assembling pipework systems - Wiring and testing programmable controller based systems
