It is broadly equivalent to one GCE A Level. The 120 credit BTEC Diploma broadens and expands the specialist work-related focus of the Subsidiary Diploma. There is potential for the qualification to prepare you for employment in the health & social care sector and it is suitable if you have decided that you wish to enter a particular area of work. It is broadly equivalent to two GCE A Levels. The 180 credit Extended Diploma extends and deepens the specialist work-related focus of the Diploma. The qualification can prepare you for appropriate direct employment in the health & social care sector and it is suitable for those who have decided that they clearly wish to enter a particular specialist area of work. It is broadly equivalent to three GCE A Levels.
