In the first year students take the core mathematics units C1, C2, C3 & C4, the statistics unit S1 and the mechanics unit M1 (see Mathematics information sheet) leading to A-level Mathematics in one year.
Name: Further Maths AS Level (at Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College) Qualification title: GCE AS Level in Further Mathematics Qualification type: Assessment Each unit is assessed by a 90 minute examination. Six units are needed for A level mathematics, nine units are needed for A level mathematics together with AS level further mathematics and twelve units are needed for A-level mathematics together with A-level further mathematics. The examinations are taken in May /June in both the first and second years. Students may have second attempts at the examinations (if they pay for later attempts) to try and improve upon their marks.
