This qualification is a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ). It involves the skills and knowledge needed for occupations in fabrication and welding, the ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems. NVQ’s are based on national occupational standards, which the learner must meet to be competent in a particular task. The achievement of NVQ’s will encourage an employee to value their contribution to the workplace, and it will develop their skills and potential within the fabrication and welding field. What does it cover? The skills and knowledge in one or more of a wide variety of fabrication and welding activities including: manual welding welding machine setting and operation sheet metalworking (3mm) plate working (3mm upwards) structural steelwork pipe and tube fabrication rail welding. Where does this qualification lead? On completion of this qualification it can form part of an Apprenticeship framework at Level 3, and provides a base for other Level 3 qualifications, and progression to a range of Level 4 qualifications and also employment.
Name: NVQ Extended Diploma in Fabrication and Welding (QCF) Level 3. Qualification title: Extended NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment How is the qualification assessed? The qualification is assessed by: portfolio of assessment verbal/written questioning witness testimony assessor observations. Performance evidence must be the main form of evidence gathered. In order to demonstrate consistent competent performance for a unit, a minimum of three different examples of performance of the unit activity will be required. It is recommended that where possible evidence is gathered holistically and that the assessment evidence for the mandatory units is gathered during the performance of the optional units. Evidence should be obtained as a whole where practically possible, since competent performance in the optional assessment routes is often dependent on competence in the mandatory assessment routes. Learners are not required to complete an exam for this qualification. Awarding EMTA Awards Ltd Created 20131204 04:12:34 Updated 20161122 15:11:13
