The course for you if you have basic engineering skills but wish to further your skills for study at university or employment and underpin your existing technical skills such as key principles, systems and the use of both manual and machined processes, with a particular focus on mechanical Engineering. This multi skilled course has been designed around the needs of employers and equips you with skills including: health and safety; Mathematics for Technicians; mechanical principles and applications; applications of mechanical systems in Engineering; Engineering drawing for Technicians; mechanical measurement and inspection techniques; working safely, effectively and efficiently in an Engineering environment; using and communicating technical information; producing components using hand fitting techniques; preparing and using lathes for turning operations; and wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits.
