Level 1 Award in Multi Trade Construction

This Level 1 Award in Multi Trade has been designed to give the learner experience of the various crafts available within the construction industry. It will allow the learner to make an informed decision about which of the trades they would like to go on to and specialise in. During the programme they will study, carpentry and joinery; painting and decorating; bricklaying and plastering with almost all content being practical and based in our construction workshops. Carpentry and joinery will include, basic joints; doors and door frames; architrave, and skirting boards. Painting and decorating will include, basic preparation of surfaces; application of paints by brush and roller, and hanging basic wall coverings. Bricklaying will include, setting out; all aspects of basic brick and block-work, and cavity walling. Plastering will include, plaster walls; rendering; moulding, and ceiling work. You will be taught by fully qualified teaching staff who are industrially competent and have years of experience of working in the industry. During the course your knowledge will be regularly checked with your practical skills being continuously monitored throughout the programme. This course will allow you to gain a basic insight into the various options available for a career in construction. You will study bricklaying, plastering, carpentry and joinery, and painting and decorating. You will complete a work based project designed to display your newly developed skills.
