This qualification is designed to enhance learners' work and life skills in the land-based industries, with particular focus on the animal care sector. The course content covers a wide range of topics allowing the learner to investigate those skills related to training, the working environment and the related educational subjects.
Name: Foundation Learning Land Based Level 1 Qualification title: Generic code to identify ILR programme aims Qualification type: Assessment Methods of assessment include; assignments, work sheets, quizzes, practical observations, talks, discussions, posters, leaflets and written presentations of findings such as information sheets. The methods through which students will demonstrate knowledge includes producing a portfolio, compiled of assignments, witness observations, video footage, collected data and experimental write ups. Diagrams, posters and leaflets will also be used to present the work. All students will study Key skills in personal development classes. These are assessed as a free standing qualification but embedded into the course. As such they will gain separate recognition for this. The course is a full time post which requires 14 hours per week contact. The timetable is such, that the students are required to commit to their studies outside of the classes and complete assignments for homework.
