Work as a legal executive covers court proceedings for breach of contract or negligence, helping clients involved in crime, matrimonial disputes and property claims, conveyancing, partnership or company formation, and medical negligence case work. Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law & Practice Level 6 needs to be achieved in order to become a Legal Executive lawyer. It is set and assessed at honours degree level and is the final qualification needed following the achievement of ILEX Level 3. Applicants must also be employed in a law environment. Single Subject Certificate The ILEX Level 6 Single Subject Certificate offers recognition of achievement to legal professionals working towards a specific area of Law or Practice. It enables students to achieve a recognised national qualification in an individual subject of law, legal practice or legal skill. Those achieving a single law or practice unit will be granted an ILEX Level 6 Single Subject Certificate for that area. For example, those achieving an ILEX Level 6 Single Subject Certificate in Employment Law will receive the ILEX Level 6 Certificate in Law (Employment Law). Those achieving both units 22 and 23 will be awarded an ILEX Level 6 Certificate in Law (Legal Skills). The ILEX Graduate 'Fast-Track' Diploma The Graduate 'Fast-Track' Diploma offers an alternative route to becoming a qualified lawyer instead of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or the Bar Professional Training Course (BVC). It is aimed at law graduates whose degree was awarded within the last seven years. Two ILEX Level 6 Practice units (one of which must relate to the subjects studied within law degree), and the ILEX Level 6 Client Care Skills unit are required to complete the academic studies.
