This course reflects the changing nature of the UK broadcast and film landscapes. Digital technologies and new working methods have led to convergence in production, an increased range of distribution and exhibition models, and new creative and enterprise opportunities. Designed to give learners the professional skills, knowledge and experience necessary to utilise digital technology to produce innovative and creative programming in a range of formats* and for a range of contemporary and emerging media**. This programme offers a direct engagement with new High Definition technologies, allowing students to develop high level specialisms and to evolve new practices to reflect new and emergent technological developments. The course also directly offers a practical and intellectual basis of ‘Digital Life Skills, Digital Work Skills, and Digital Economy Skills’. Learners will acquire professional and constructional competence in single camera production for digital film, for broadcast media, and for emerging digital platforms, and will learn in an environment that is equipped to professional digital film standards mirroring the integrated workplace in which, film, digital media, and broadcast professionals work. They will be taught by industry practitioners, both staff and visiting lecturers, and will be exposed to the industry through practice-based workshops, visits to productions, and industrial placement. *shorts, features, installation, music video, corporate, promotional, drama, documentary, advertising, etc **across diverse platforms including streaming media, iPTV, interactive, second screen, and mobile
