Advanced Apprenticeship in Baking Industry Skills (QCF)

Scottish Bakers offers an Advanced Apprenticeship in Baking Industry Skills for those who want to start a successful career in baking. This is a City and Guilds qualification that will develop the apprentices existing knowledge of the baking industry and enable the apprentice to take on extra responsibilities. This qualification will also enable the apprentice to begin to specialise in a specific area of baking skills. The apprenticeship will include: a Certificate in Baking Industry Skills at Level 3, and Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2. However, if the apprentice has already achieved GCSE’s grade A*-C in English and Maths they will not be required to undertake Functional Skills. Scottish Bakers was established in 1891 and since then it has represented and promoted the interests of the bakery trade in Scotland. Scottish Bakers aims to be an integral part of each member’s business operation by providing a range of specialist support services for Bakers of all sizes. It provides a valuable source of advice, information, assistance and skills development for bakers throughout Scotland. Most importantly Scottish Bakers belongs to its members; it is there for their benefit and it is proud of its motto “For the Good of All.” Our vision & mission is to be recognised by the Scottish Bakery Trade as a world class Trade Association supporting our members to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of their customers and to be recognised by all stakeholders as the authoritative voice of the bakery trade in Scotland.
