The course has been designed for students to gain recognised qualifications and experience for those entering the hospitality industry for the first time or for those coming back to it. The course is both classroom based and has several practical elements to it. Students enjoy activities in the first week encouraging them to develop their team building and communication skills. Charity events are held throughout the course where students prepare, cook and serve food to the general public and donations are made to a chosen charity. Each student is given the opportunity to gain further practical experience by participating in a work placement. Information such as location and type of job are taken at the start of the course to match the right learner with the right employer for the work experience. This is a vital part of the course, even if a learner has some experience in the industry; it is always good to brush up on their practical skills.
