"This practical course will provide an introduction into basic Habitat conservation skills, particularly focussing on woodland habitat and grassland habitat found within parks and green spaces. Candidates will learn about the traditional management of coppicing, and also how to manage grassland habitats. The course comprises of a small amount of £classroom£ work, but the majority of the course is delivered in woodland and grassland habitats in parks and green spaces in the local area. On successful completion of the course you will gain a nationally recognised City and guilds Level 1 award in Land based Studies. This course can act as an entry into a career in countryside conservation."
