"The aim of an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Animal Care is to give learners an opportunity to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the animal care sector. Students gain self-esteem and the confidence required to undertake a responsible role within an organisation. You will need: Level 1 NVQ/Diploma in Animal Care or equivalent qualification or appropriate occupational experience, with literacy/ numeracy to at least Entry 3; Educated to GCSE standard and working at Level 1; At least 16 years old on entry; Employment within the Animal Care industry for at least 30 hours per week. What next? Employment; Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship; Other Level 3 courses."
