This is an ideal opportunity to polish up your number skills. Each part of the course is designed to build your confidence in using numbers. You will learn how to understand ratios, fractions, decimals and percentages and how to deal with large numbers. Good measuring skills are essential in our lives and you will learn about length, weight and liquids using the metric system. You will also learn about charts, graphs and tables and how to understand and work out averages. Your course will be classroom based and your tutor will work with you to decide what you want to learn and will provide personal support to help you achieve your goals. You will have the chance to use computers to help with your learning and will be able to take work away to study on your own if you wish. You will take Level 1 and/or Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics at certain times of the year - usually February and July.
