Health and Social Care Level 2 Apprenticeship

Health and Social Care Apprenticeships provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to work in a variety of health and social care settings, from helping people with a particular need to providing vital assistance to healthcare professionals in the care of patients. You must be employed in a full-time Care position and your personal Training Advisor will visit you at least once a month in your workplace. The qualification is made up to suit individuals roles by selecting one Level 2 Diploma (consisting of 9 units each) in either:- Adults with Learning Disabilities; Dementia Pathway or Generic Pathway. Each learner then must complete two mandatory Level 2 units in:- Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health and a Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care. Functional Skills in Maths and English exams at Level 1 are also mandatory but you may have exemptions in these. Whilst completing this qualification, you'll cover topics like:- the role of a health and social care worker; health and safety; equality and inclusion; personal development. You will also cover specific skills and knowledge for the options you choose. This may include:- administering medication; supporting people with disabilities; working with babies and young children; helping people to eat and drink. This qualification will suit you if you are a care worker or want to get your first care job or if you are already working in care, you probably work mainly under supervision. You want to increase your skills and take on more responsibility. This level is suitable for:- Healthcare Assistants/Support Workers; Care Workers/Assistants/Key Workers and Personal Assistants.
